Experiences
Overall, Typography to me has been quite a handful. It wasn't quite as I expected. I went from knowing nothing about typography until now, I was able to create a poster and simple animation. To be honest, Typography class has always been the most stressful one because we had to see things in a different way and we had to slowly develop an eye for typography to what looks good and what's not. However, I'd also be lying if I said I did not enjoy any part of it. It really opened my eye about typography and it definitely broke me out of my own shell. I'm genuinely happy to be able to learn about typography, the history, as well as the essence of it.
Observation
After joining this class, I finally understand how important typography is in our everyday lives. From book covers to posters, typography is literally everywhere! Ever since joining in the class, I could not see typography in a different way now. Before, I used to ignore typography and never really notice designs around me, but now, I can't help but observing book covers in a book store whenever I pass by them. Typography isn't just about creating typefaces, it broadens to paragraph spacing and kerning too! There's much more details to pay attention to and that's why it's difficult to master this subject.
Findings
I found myself to take an interest in typography as days goes by. We often overlook the importance of typography. Without typography, the world would just honestly be plain boring. However, that does not mean that we can take it for granted. I finally realized how underrated typographers are. They amount of work put into making a good typography is not any less than any other occupations out there. I think that typographers deserves much more credit and they should be well credited. I feel a huge respect to all the hardworking typographers out there, and I hope people now could give proper credits to all designers, not just to typographers, and really show them what they're worth and not take it for granted.
